Christine Murphy, RD
Trauma-informed Registered Dietitian
Meet Christine
Journey. Story. There is a weight and sacredness to those words. Most likely you have both a journey and a story with nutrition and I’m pretty sure that it is not a straight line but rather a series of twists and turns. I only say that from experience and a growing understanding of myself and my own relationship with food.
Have you ever struggled to feed yourself well while experiencing depression or anxiety? Maybe you’ve had overwhelming brain fog and fatigue in an underfed body that in turn amplify experiences of mental health concerns? Maybe you’ve even had times when you just can’t fix the next meal, and it feels overwhelmingly impossible to feed yourself?
Maybe you’ve wrestled with your weight or relationship with your body, trying diet after diet, only to go back to your starting point?
Or do you have a medical condition that is directly linked to nutrition, and you want better health but have no idea what you need to change or how to do it well?
These are just a few examples that may ring true, and I know you have your own pain points with nutrition.
I welcome your questions and will sit with you in the pain, bring all my knowledge to your challenges, and help you take steps towards your goals. Change is hard and it is also so, so good. I would love to journey with you as you pursue better health through nutrition.

My approach is centered on you, where I first seek to understand who you are, your story, and what your particular needs are. Then I work with you to help you achieve your goals. Therapy and guidance are evidence-based, relying on research to inform my care for you. I utilize a trauma-informed lens recognizing that you and food have a relationship that is more than just fuel.

I am so many things.
A foodie who loves to read cookbooks, a gardener, a wife, a mother to five amazing children, and someone who has a food story.
I grew up learning how to make basic meals, but those skills were put to the test when I lived overseas for 10 years. When craving comfort foods, I had to learn how to make them from scratch.
When my husband and I started our family, I dove into making baby food. This made me reflect on my own eating and what I wanted to do differently for my children. This quest for making the ultimate wholesome food led to complicated rules with food, fear of not doing it “good enough”, and rigidity. I was also frustrated with there being so much information and not knowing what was true or how to discern fads from healthy approaches. I decided to dive into the deep end of the pool and become a registered dietitian so that I could figure things out for myself and help others do the same.
I discovered that food is so much more than nutrition — it is relationships, culture, joy, trauma, and story. In it I discovered the power of gentleness toward self in the sacred journey of healing and grace.
