What if you could explore your relationship with food, not through rules or plans, but through your hands? The Holding Plate is a 7-week creative experience where we’ll gently uncover how our attachment patterns shape the ways we seek, hold, and share nourishment — and how we can explore those patterns through clay.

Together, with the guidance of a trauma-informed registered dietitian and a local potter, you’ll move between reflection and creation — forming plates that tell the story of your own relationship with nourishment. Each week, we’ll listen to the wisdom of our bodies, notice the ways we protect or reach for food and comfort, and find new ways to receive care through mindful, embodied creativity.

By the end of our time together, you will have created three personal plates — each one a symbol of your evolving food story and capacity to receive nourishment with gentleness and grace. This class is designed for those with no pottery experience - all are welcome.

You Will Leave This Group With:

  • A deeper understanding of how attachment influences your relationship with food and self.

  • Greater compassion and awareness around eating, emotion, and embodiment.

  • Tools for mindfulness and grounding through tactile, creative practice.

  • A renewed connection between body, emotion, and creativity — within a supportive, shared space.

Rachel Schultz, Founder
Beautiful Mud Pottery Studio

I am a Registered Dietitian, foodie, gardener, wife, and mom to five amazing kids.

I use a trauma-informed lens to support clients in healing their relationship with food.

I believe food is more than just fuel — it’s connection, culture, joy, trauma, and personal story.

I want to help you find self-compassion and grace on your food journey.

The desire to make art accessible to everyone, serve my community, and connect with others has fueled my passion for crafting Beautiful Mud Pottery Studio.

I believe that pottery is not only a beautiful art form, but also a means of forging connections, both within oneself and between individuals. I hope to offer a space where people can gather, learn, and inspire one another while exploring the transformative power of clay.
