You are invited
to tell your story.

Have you been wounded in a church or faith community?

Maybe you’ve been told your questions were rebellion, your body was untrustworthy, your perspective or theology was dangerous, your submission was more important than your safety.

If that lands close to home, you’re not alone.

This group is a gentle, structured space to name what happened, listen to your body, and begin to reclaim your voice, your boundaries, and—if you choose—your spirituality.

This group will prioritize safety and connection, facilitated by trauma-informed Storywork Coaches who understand the complexity that comes with many faith contexts. This environment comes with no fixing, debating, or trying to convert anyone.

You have permission to go at your own pace—sharing is always optional. This group is for healing, not for theological argument or spiritual policing.

Who is this group for?

This group is a good fit for those who:

  • Have experienced harm, control, or spiritual abuse in a church or faith community

  • Feel grief, anger, numbness, or confusion about faith, God, or religion

  • Notice ongoing impact in their body, relationships, and sense of self

  • Are looking for support from a non-judgmental community with others who “get it.”

You do not need to currently be part of a religious community to participate. People who have stayed, left, are deconstructing, or don’t know where they are with faith are all welcome.

What to Expect:

Weekly Themes:

  1. Naming and Recognizing the Wound

  2. The Body, Fragmentation & Legacy

  3. Control, Authority & Compliance

  4. Family, Culture & Internalized Systems

  5. Feeling & Naming What Was Lost

  6. Trusting Self, Embodied Healing & New Meaning

  7. Repair, Boundaries & Connection

  8. Integration, Forward Movement & Hope

Each session will include:

  • A brief grounding or embodiment practice

  • Content with guided questions and reflection

  • Each participant will have a session to share their story
and receive care from the group

  • Gentle closure so you don’t leave feeling “wide open”
