Who becomes a ReStory Affiliate?
Our ReStory Affiliates are story-informed coaches, therapists, pastoral counselors, and spiritual directors — all Storywork practitioners with real practices and real clients, ready to be known for the work they are already doing. They recognize the power of story, and the even greater power of linking arms with others who are also doing good, deep work.
Every Affiliate has completed a recognized Storywork training program — the ReStory Institute, NFTC at the Allender Center, Freedom Academy, or equivalent, and holds their own LLC or PLLC. Whether they have 5 clients or 50, Affiliate practices are vetted and reviewed to maintain the highest industry standards.
What are the Eligibility Requirements to Become a ReStory Affiliate?
-
All Affiliates are required to have completed at least Level 1 training in Storywork: ReStory Institute (learn more), Allender Center's NFTC, Freedom Academy, or an equivalent recognized program. This is the shared foundation every Affiliate stands on — the training that shapes how you actually do this work. If your training came from somewhere else, ReStory reviews it for equivalency as part of your application.
You’ve pursued specific training in Storywork.
-
You operate your practice under your own LLC or PLLC, in good standing. In the U.S., this is the legal entity required to do business — and it's what keeps every Affiliate relationship a business-to-business collaboration. It's a baseline requirement for any practitioner joining the Affiliate network.
You’ve done the work to start a business.
-
You carry active professional liability insurance — a minimum of $1,000,000 per occurrence and $3,000,000 aggregate. This protects you, your clients, and the integrity of the network you're joining. A current certificate is required at application and renewed annually.
This is industry standard, and offers you and your clients a layer of protection and accountability.
-
You're actively building or maintaining a Storywork coaching or counseling practice — whether you have 5 clients or 50. Affiliates are practitioners doing the work, not simply credentialed for it. This is a network of people in the field, not on the sidelines of it.
If the network is to refer you clients, we need to verify you have somewhere to refer them to.
-
Every Affiliate maintains active Storywork Coaching Collective membership as part of the relationship. It's not an add-on — it's the ongoing training and community every Affiliate stays rooted in. Your Affiliate membership fee includes it, so this happens automatically once you join.
-
If you hold a professional license, you're in good standing with that licensing board. This is a basic trust marker for anyone we endorse publicly. Any change in your standing must be reported to ReStory promptly.
-
Every Affiliate clears a background check as part of the application process. It's a basic layer of protection for clients and for the integrity of the network. This is a one-time requirement at application. The cost is not included in the membership, but is usually ~$30.
This offers both the network and the general public a level of confidence that your record is clear.
-
You agree to uphold the ReStory Code of Ethics and Professional Standards in all of your professional work. This covers everything from client wellbeing and confidentiality to boundaries and honest representation of your training. It's the ethical backbone that makes the ReStory name mean something when it's attached to yours.
This ethics certification course is free inside the Storywork Coaching Collective (released over the first 3 months of being a member). Affiliates must successfully complete it and receive the certificate within those first three months of being a member.
-
Every Affiliate goes through an application and review process before being endorsed. The ReStory team looks at your training, your practice, and your alignment with the ReStory standard. It's what keeps the badge meaningful — for you, and for every other Affiliate wearing it.
-
Wherever the ReStory Affiliate badge appears, the following disclosure language is included:
“[Name] is a ReStory-vetted and endorsed practitioner. They operate independently under their own professional entity and are not an employee, contractor, or member of ReStory Counseling.”
Backed by 16 years of ReStory
ReStory has spent over a decade and a half training practitioners, building the Institute, and setting the standard for what good Storywork looks like.
When you are endorsed as an Affiliate, that history and reputation stands behind you.
And it works both ways: people come to ReStory every week looking for a Storywork practitioner near them, someone vetted, someone we trust. The Affiliate Directory puts your practice confidently in front of them, listed and ready to be found by the clients you are looking to serve.
Affiliate Directory
Listings highlight your practice location, specialties, and training, and connect prospective clients directly with your website.
It’s an affiliation and participation in a community, with training, consultation, and connection
But this is more than just another listing...
What does ReStory Affiliate membership include?
-
Every Affiliate is automatically a full member of the Storywork Coaching Collective (LEARN MORE HERE) — monthly training, liturgy, embodiment exercise, community forum, weekly prompts, and the Ethics Certificate, all included at no extra cost. It's the foundation every Affiliate stands on, not an add-on.
-
More than a logo, it's a signal. The moment someone sees it, they know your practice has been reviewed, vetted, and endorsed by a name that's been doing this work for years. It's the difference between "trust me" and "trusted by." In a field where anyone can call themselves a coach, the badge does some of the convincing before you ever say a word.
The badge signifies that you, your business, your ethics, your training, and your approach meet a standard clients and other practitioners can trust.
-
Your practice appears in the searchable directory people use every week to find a Storywork practitioner near them — searchable by location and specialty, and actively pointed to by ReStory whenever someone asks for a referral. It's discovery you don't have to build yourself: a steady, standing front door that keeps working for you in the background, even if you've stopped actively marketing.
-
A smaller room inside the Collective, just for Affiliates. It's where the conversations get more specific: make referrals, discuss pricing, ask questions — the real stuff of running a practice. This is where Affiliates find one another, build community, share resources, make connections, and talk about the highs and lows of practice ownership.
This aspect alone is gold.
-
We all know the importance of supervision. As an Affiliate, you receive one-on-one supervision, four times a year, with the people who are building this field. It's a regular space to bring your hardest cases, your own blind spots, and the places where your story is showing up in the room with clients. Over a year, that's four chances to be sharpened by people who've walked this exact road — so you don't have to figure it out alone.
* Supervision here refers to consultation in the Storywork sense — reflective, formational conversation about your practice — not clinical or licensed supervision toward any credential or licensure hour. Valued at $600/year.
-
Get first access when registration opens for triads, consultation groups, ReStory Institute trainings (learn more here) before the general Storywork Coaching Collective.
-
Once a year, the ReStory business team sits down with your practice from the outside — the way a client would first encounter it — and gives you honest, written feedback. That means a look at your website, your intake and consent forms, your pricing and how it's positioned, your booking and scheduling flow, your bio and specialties language, and your public-facing presence — socials, profiles, wherever clients might find you first. It's the kind of outside eyes most solo practitioners never get: someone who knows this field, looking at your whole practice with fresh attention once a year, so nothing goes stale. All of this is summarized and delivered to you in written form, with actionable to-dos to hone your message and process even more. Valued at $300/ year.
-
Storywork & Business Consultation packages, Triadic Practice — every add-on in the Storywork Coaching Collective comes to Affiliates at 10% off. It's a small thing on paper, but it adds up: the practitioners who lean into ongoing consultation and continued training the most are the ones this benefit rewards the most. It's ReStory's way of valuing ongoing growth and development.

*COMING SOON
When a Practice in Residence spot opens, Affiliates hear about it first — before it's ever offered outside the network. It's a built-in next step, not a cold application: by the time a spot opens, ReStory already knows your practice, your ethics, and your track record. For Affiliates who want the fullest level of integration down the road — referrals, marketing, the complete operational and business backbone of ReStory — this is how that door opens first for you.
Who’s in your corner as you build your practice?
Building a Storywork practice takes more than good instincts. It takes people around you who know the way.
Endorsement gives your practice credibility.
Community keeps you connected and resourced.
Consultation keeps your work sharp.
That's what the Affiliate Practice offers: a network to build in, not just a directory to sit in.
You've built your practice. It's time to be known for it.
Apply to Become a ReStory Affiliate
You're ready to be known as part of something bigger than what you've built alone.
Submit your interest here and a member of the ReStory team will follow up with the full application and next steps. No obligations.
We review every practitioner for training, business, ethics, and alignment with the ReStory standard before extending an invitation.
This is the first step toward joining a trusted, vetted network of Storywork practitioners across the country.
When you join something bigger…
-
A directory listing means new clients aren't just stumbling onto your practice — they're being pointed to it.
-
Being part of a trusted network means other Affiliates, and ReStory itself, can confidently send clients your way.
-
Clients pay more for practitioners who've been vetted and endorsed. The badge does some of that work for you.
-
Pastors, counselors, and other referral sources trust a name they recognize — and ReStory is that name in this field.
-
An annual review means someone outside your practice is checking your website, forms, and pricing before they become a problem.
And, you have a network of others in your field to bounce ideas off of, to share your struggles, and to ask “how did you do that?” kinds of questions.
-
The Affiliate-only channel connects you with other practice owners doing this same work, at this same level.
-
Quarterly consultation with a Storywork expert keeps your Storywork coaching instincts sharp, year after year.
-
Being part of a vetted network means your practice is accountable to a shared standard, not just your own judgment.
-
Discounted training and consultation mean staying sharp doesn’t get more expensive. It’s less.
-
There is a clear path forward for you and your practice. It’s no longer building something on your own. You have a vision and direction for every step of the way.
Grow at ReStory
Find your place in the ReStory Storywork practitioner ecosystem
The Storywork Coaching Collective is the first step in the ReStory practitioner ecosystem. It is the entry point into a pathway that connects you with a community, resources, professional growth, development, Storywork consultation, and full practice support as your work grows.
The Affiliate Practice is for those already in practice who want deeper connection and affiliation with ReStory: endorsement, community, and a trusted name behind their work as they grow. You and your practice are listed in the ReStory-endorsed directory, and you receive quarterly consultation and an annual business review. Includes the Storywork Coaching Collective.
Application Required.
Practice in Residence is our highest level of engagement. You got into this work to see clients, not manage a business. So hand it off — all of it — and step into something bigger. Think of it like an artist's studio: the space, the tools, the support are all there, already set up, so all you have to do is create. You'll be associated with a trusted name, belong to a community that has your back, and run on a proven operational engine working day and night behind the scenes. Your practice remains fully yours, but now has a place to call home. This is where you stop managing and start creating: fully present, fully free, doing the one thing you were made for — being with your clients.

FAQ
-
Not necessarily. Completion of ReStory Institute Level 1, NFTC at the Allender Center, Freedom Academy, or an equivalent recognized program qualifies you to apply. ReStory reviews other training on a case-by-case basis to confirm it meets the same standard.
-
Full Storywork Coaching Collective membership, your Affiliate badge and directory listing, quarterly consultation, priority registration, discounts on add-ons, and an annual practice review — the full list is above. Together, these are meant to support both the coaching and business sides of your practice.
-
No. It's consultation in the Storywork sense — reflective, formational conversation about your practice — not clinical or licensed supervision toward any credential or licensure hour.
-
Yes. Affiliate Practice is a one-year commitment with annual renewal, given the setup and review involved in bringing each practice into the network. This also gives both sides time to see the relationship working well before renewing.
-
No. Affiliates are independent practitioners who operate under their own entity. Becoming an Affiliate does not create employment, partnership, or contractor status with ReStory — it's a professional endorsement and affiliation, not a hiring relationship.
Think of like joining a national association. You are a member, not an employee.
-
No — Affiliates range from newer practices to those with decades of experience. What matters is that you're actively practicing and meet the training and ethics requirements, not how long you've been doing it.
This diversity is part of the power of the network. Those who have been practicing for decades benefit from those who are new, innovative, and fresh. And those who are just starting benefit from the vetted practitioners who can share “do this” and “definitely don’t to that!”
-
Affiliate is the mid-level engagement of the ReStory ecosystem, built on Storywork Coaching Collective membership, with a pathway toward Practice in Residence for those who want fuller integration down the road. Each level is designed to meet you where you are and grow with you.
-
Once accepted, you are free to use the endorsement badge and language anywhere you like. However, you're required to include the standard disclosure language confirming you operate independently as your own entity. You may not imply employment, ownership, or that ReStory supervises your practice — the badge signals endorsement, not affiliation as a business entity of ReStory.
-
Yes. Affiliate status depends on staying in good standing, maintaining your insurance, LLC/PLLC, and upholding the ReStory Code of Ethics. Any complaint, ethics violation, or lapse in these requirements can result in suspension or termination of the Affiliate relationship.
This maintains the integrity of the affiliation for all.
-
$198/month includes your full Storywork Coaching Collective membership (valued at $99/month), badge, directory listing, quarterly consultation (valued at $150), and every other Affiliate benefit — one flat fee, no separate billing for each piece. This will be charged automatically each month, and is considered by the IRS as a deductible business expense.
-
No. Being an Affiliate makes your practice discoverable through the directory and ReStory's referral conversations, but referrals are never guaranteed or routed to you automatically. Your visibility, reputation, and how well your profile represents your work all play a role in whether inquiries come your way.
Additionally, referrals are not just from the directory. They can come from other Affiliates as well. The more you network and collaborate within the program, the more likely it becomes your client referrals will increase.
