to dive deeper.
Neurodiverse marriages are incredible — and uniquely challenging. If your relationship includes ADHD, ASD, and/or AuDHD, you may have found that traditional couples therapy doesn't quite fit. If you've ever thrown your hands up and wondered, "Why is this not working for us?!" — you're not alone, and it's not your fault.
Join us as we explore the distinct dynamics of neurodiverse marriage: what to look out for, and how to begin navigating the complexities with more confidence and connection.
Who is this group for?
This group could be for you if:
At least one partner has a diagnosis of ADHD, ASD, or AuDHD — or strongly suspects they do (self-diagnoses are welcome)
You feel like you're speaking different emotional or communication languages, even when you're both trying your best
Either or both of you have felt dismissed, misunderstood, or exhausted by traditional couples’ therapy
You appreciate validation of the struggles in your relationship, but you want to receive practical tools and frameworks for connecting with your partner
One partner often feels like the "nag" while the other feels perpetually criticized or micromanaged
You find yourselves stuck in the same arguments without understanding why
Differences in sensory needs, social energy, or emotional regulation are creating friction at home
You love each other but struggle to feel like a team
You're both willing to show up, learn, and do the work — together
You're looking for more than a therapist. You want a community of couples who get it
What to Expect:
Each 2-hour session will include a time of learning and time to process together. You will get to know the other couples and some of their experiences. Topics covered will include:
What is a neurodiverse marriage and why does it matter?
Deepening friendship with each other
Fostering love, affection, and fondness
Conflict: remaining connected and being productive
Intimacy
Organizing life
Holding different perspectives
Life transitions
Meet Alex & Ben
Alex Murphy - I have experienced what it’s like to have a marriage in crisis, and counseling was where I encountered real healing for the first time.
My journey towards wholeness grew into a passion to help others find deeper life, and I went back to school to become a licensed therapist.
More recently, our five children (aged 10-20) introduced us to the neurodiversity in our home — their experiences with ADHD and ASD led my wife and me to recognize our own, bringing new clarity to our shared story.
Ben Corley - As a counseling intern coming from a personal coaching background, I love working with married clients because of how unique and dynamic each relationship is.
I have a great interest in neurodivergent marriage because I am in one, and I recognize how the presence of neurodiversity impacts my relationship in nuanced, fun, challenging, and interesting ways. I've seen firsthand how keeping each other’s needs in mind can make a great deal of difference in a marriage relationship.
